Facilities

Can I use the TV?

Yes the remote control is normally held behind the bar. Please feel free to ask

Do you have parking, can I park anywhere?

There is a car park which runs from the clubhouse down to the nets. Please park considerately allowing access to other people. Please also do not park or drop off on Vicarage Road as this is a busy road and any congestion is dangerous

Can I use the nets and if so is there any times when they are restricted?

The nets are available for club members to use at any time. Please be aware that juniors practice on a Monday and Seniors nets are on a Tuesday - both in the evening. Use of the nets outside of official practice times is at your own risk and the correct protective equipment should be worn at all times

I want to use the nets but do not have equipment, can I get equipment from anywhere?

We do have some kit available. Please talk to your team captain if you are a senior and juniors should ask their age group manager

Do you have a notice board?

There is a notice board in the clubhouse which covers our club welfare policy including details of our Welfare Officer

Are the facilities available for disabilities?

Yes following the recent clubhouse refurbishment there is now disabled access to the clubhouse as well as a disabled toilet. The access key for this is held behind the bar

Membership

Do I receive any discounts from being a member or anything? i.e reduction for a friend, equipment etc
Do you do a refer a friend scheme?

There is currently a scheme for senior members whereby if you introduce a new full paying member you receive a 50% discount on your annual subscription. There is also a sibling discount for juniors

Do I get a social member on my child’s membership?

Yes and this entitles you to attend all club events as well as access to the clubhouse and bar for the year

Do I get social membership on any membership & if so what do I get in return for this?

Partners of senior members are automatically social members which gives access to the club and all social events

Can I come to social events and if so who can I bring and where do I purchase tickets from?

Yes you are more than welcome at social events which will be advertised in the clubhouse and on the website. Please speak to a member of the social committee regarding tickets

My child is a member, but I am still interested in the adult fixtures where can I find this out?

Initially speak to your child’s coach who will put you in touch with the right person. Alternatively speak to whoever is behind the bar and they should be able to assist.

I would like to know about the social events throughout the year how do I find out about these?

There are flyers advertising events in the clubhouse or check the website www.eghamcricketclub.co.uk

Do you do newsletters to keep me updated with how the club are doing this year etc

The junior section issue newsletters periodically throughout the season. Senior performances can be found on the website

I have just joined the adults team what now? Who will contact me to let me know when I am playing?

You will be contacted by the captain of the team you have been selected for who will let you know full details of the match

I have just joined the adults team and my first game is away, how do I get there?

You will be given a time to meet at the club on the day and then details of how to get there will be given. Car sharing is encouraged so you will not need to drive to every away game

When (date & time) and where do you train? How long will the training be on for; 1, 2 3 hours?

Training for seniors is on a Tuesday evening from 6.15 until 8.00pm. Juniors train on a Monday from 6.15 until 8.00pm. Under 15-17 juniors train with the seniors on a Tuesday evening

Who will my training be delivered by?

The junior section all have at least one ECB qualified coach per age group and the senior nets are run by a level 3 ECB coach

It’s my first time to training, is the dress code strict or can I wear normal gym clothes?

There is no dress code although football shirts are discouraged

Bar

My child is playing, can I grab a drink whilst I wait; will the bar always be open?

As a social member (as part of your child’s membership) you are welcome to drink in the club at any time when the bar is open. We try to have the bar open for all games but please be aware that the bar is run by volunteers

The bar has its shutters down but the clubhouse is open, does this mean that drinks are unavailable at this time?

It is possible that there will be a keyholder on the premises who will be able to serve you. Please ask any member who will be happy to assist

Do I receive preferential rates on room hire being a member?

Please refer to the website or speak to someone at the club who will be able to discuss your requirements and also the hire charge

Can I bring my family into the clubhouse for a drink or do they need to be members?

Yes, as a social member you can bring guests in to the club and you should sign them in using the visitors book

Emergencies

I have an emergency and someone else will now need to pick up my child, who can I contact to pass this message on to my son/daughter?

Either tell the coach in charge of the year group your child is in or alternatively advise the club Welfare Officer

I have had an accident is there a first aid box and do I need to report this?

Yes there is a First Aid Box located in the kitchen and the accident should be recorded in the accident book which is with the First Aid Kit

Something has arisen and I need to have a private conversation, what is the best channel and with whom do I discuss this matter

The club Welfare Officer (details on notice board in clubhouse)

Other

If I have a suggestion who do I speak with?

Any member of the committee will be happy to listen

Where should I look if I want to check if the game is still going ahead (for adults and children)

Games can be called off at short notice due to the weather. Please contact your team captain for senior games or the age group manager for junior games if you believe the game may be in doubt. However they will normally phone around as soon as they know a game is off

Do I need to bring money to any games, are there any extra charges when I finish the match?

A match fee is charged for senior matches to cover the cost of the pitch and teas.

Can I volunteer/help out at the cricket club?

Yes please. Any help is always most welcome, please speak to your child’s coach senior team captain or any member of the committee
